How to download your Ally statements

OFX / QFXOFX/QFX (recommended). PDF statements exist but Pare can't parse them.

Ally Bank exports transactions in Quicken format from the account activity view. That's the path into Pare.

Steps

  1. 01Sign in at ally.com and open the account.
  2. 02Open account activity and choose Download.
  3. 03Pick the Quicken (.qfx) format.
  4. 04Drop the .qfx into Pare.
Go to Ally login โ†—

Worth knowing

Ally's savings buckets appear inside one account rather than as separate accounts, so a single export can mix them. Pare treats the file as one account โ€” which is usually what you want.

What Pare does with it

Drop the file into Pare and it parses the transactions locally, categorises them, and builds spending trends, budgets and a cash-flow forecast. Uploaded PDFs are deleted the moment they're parsed, and Pare never asks for your bank login. You can also self-host it so the data never leaves your machine.
