How to download your Charles Schwab statements

OFX / QFXOFX/QFX where offered. PDF statements exist but Pare can't parse them.

Schwab's bank and brokerage accounts both offer transaction exports. Pare reads the cash-side transactions; it does not do holdings-level investment analysis.

Steps

  1. 01Sign in at schwab.com and open the account.
  2. 02History / Transactions โ†’ Export.
  3. 03Pick a Quicken or OFX/QFX format if offered.
  4. 04Drop the file into Pare.
Go to Charles Schwab login โ†—

Worth knowing

Pare has no portfolio tracking โ€” it will read Schwab cash transactions as an account, but positions, cost basis and performance are outside what it does. Net worth supports manual entries for investments instead.

What Pare does with it

Drop the file into Pare and it parses the transactions locally, categorises them, and builds spending trends, budgets and a cash-flow forecast. Uploaded PDFs are deleted the moment they're parsed, and Pare never asks for your bank login. You can also self-host it so the data never leaves your machine.
