How to download your Wells Fargo statements
OFX / QFXOFX/QFX (recommended). PDF statements exist but Pare can't parse them.
Wells Fargo's “Download Account Activity” produces a Quicken (.qfx) file, which is the reliable path into Pare. The PDF statement has no parser here.
Steps
- 01Sign in at wellsfargo.com and open the account.
- 02Find Download Account Activity (near the transaction list).
- 03Pick a date range and the Quicken (.qfx) format.
- 04Drop the .qfx into Pare.
Worth knowing
Wells Fargo's export window is limited, so pull it regularly rather than trying to backfill years at once.
What Pare does with it
Drop the file into Pare and it parses the transactions locally, categorises them, and builds spending trends, budgets and a cash-flow forecast. Uploaded PDFs are deleted the moment they're parsed, and Pare never asks for your bank login. You can also self-host it so the data never leaves your machine.
